Joining the Indian Navy involves several pathways, depending on your educational background, interests, and career aspirations.

Here are some common ways to join the Indian Navy:

  • You can join The Indian Navy by appearing for the NDA Entrance Exam conducted by UPSC.

The Indian Naval Academy trains officers for the Indian Navy. You can join the INA through various schemes such as

  • After 12 you can appear for the exam conducted by NDA, & Naval Academy examination conducted by UPSC.
  • 10+2(B.Tech) cadet entry schem.
  • Direct entry after graduation.

Both men and women can join Indian Navy through short service commission. Officers generally serve for 10 years and can be extended upto 14 years  or can opt for permanent commission based on your performance and eligibility.

Final year engineering students can apply for the university entry scheme.

Non officer ranks in the Indian Navy are filled through various sailor entry schemes. That include artificer apprentice, matric recruits, musician sailors etc.
