Rabindra Bharati University is an affiliating university. For BA courses admission is offered on the basis of marks secured by a candidate in the qualifying examination. So there is no test for B.A english.

The Rabindrabharati University in Kolkata offers courses in Fine Arts, Arts and Visual Arts. The department of English which falls under Arts stream offers BA, MA, M. Phil, Ph. D,  and D. Litt to it's students. As per the admission notification released for the academic year 2018-2019 by the faculty of Arts. There is no admission test, instep for a student to be eligible for admission he/she should have passed the H. S examination or it's equivalent with 50% marks (45% for SC, ST, PWD) in the respective subject in which Honours is sought for. The 50% cut is not applicable to students seeking admission under sports category. The merit list  shall be preprared  based on the aggregate of the total marks scored by the student in :

1.  M. P/Class 10 or it's equivalent - 20 (score)

2 H. S/Class 12 or it's equivalent -30(score) (best 4 subjects excluding ENVS)

3. 50(score) in the concerned subject of H. S in which Honours is sought for. 

For english there will be two seperate merit lists, one for students passing  H. S/class 12 or it's equivalent with English as first language and the other for the students  passing H. S/class 12 or it's equivalent with English as second language.  Other will have only one merit list.
