NDA exam is conducted twice in a year, earlier only unmarried male candidates were allowed for NDA exam and female candidates were not allowed, but from 18th August, 2921 supreme court of India has allowed female candidates to take NDA exam, NDA application forms for female candidates have been released.

The Union government on September 8 has informed Supreme Court that it has decided to enroll women in National Defence Academy (NDA) and Naval Academy (NA) courses. The written exam of NDA comprises two papers: Mathematics and General Ability Test (GAT). The written test carries a total of 900 marks. Candidates who obtain the minimum qualifying marks in the written exam are called for SSB Interview.

There are total 370 vacancies that include-

1. Army: 208
2. Navy: 42
3. Air Force: 120
