Hi,

There is one scheme which was introduced during 2016-17 where tuition fee for economically students studying in IIT was waived off.

However, there are certain schemes introduced in India that does exempt certain amount of fees and not on the whole.

One of such schemes for college and university students is called central sector scheme of scholarship for college and university students (CSSS) where students whose parents earn less than 8lpa will receive 10000 rs. pa for the first 3 years and 20000 rs. pa for the next 2 years.

There is a special scholarship scheme for those students belonging to EBC i.e. family income less than 8lpa and willing to pursue education in Jammu and Kashmir. They will receive and amount of 1.30 to 4 lpa.

The central sector interest subsidy scheme allows students to receive full subsidy on an educational loan of upto 7.5 lakh. This scheme can be availed by those whose family income is upto 4.5 lakh.
