Dear Aspirant,

The JEE Main Paper I test was fully computer-based and the exam was 300 points. The paper was divided into three parts, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. This year, the question paper also included questions of numerical value in each part.

The JEE Main Paper 1 happened in two shifts and was conducted by NDA. The paper on January 7th can be analysed on the basis of what the students and the experts commented.

In the afternoon session, the paper was said to be of moderate level and time hung over the students continuously and was a challenge. Mathematics was described as the most difficult section as it consisted of a lot of Calculus questions. Chemistry was described as the easiest section as the questions came from the inorganic section. Physics was also said to be difficult. The paper was described as balanced but the numerical were lengthy to solve. The questions were based on the 12th and NCERT syllabus. For Physics, both 11th and 12th questions were there.

In the next session also, the paper for moderately difficult. A similar analysis was given where Maths and Physics were found difficult but Chemistry was easy. Chemistry had more questions from Organic Chemistry. Physics had questions from Circles and Thermodynamics and Mathematics had them from co-ordinate geometry. Integer questions were there as well.

So overall, Chemistry questions were mostly from NCERT and the numerical were lengthy and calculative. It was similar or a little bit easier from last year's paper. Conceptual clarity was required.

Hope this helps. All the best!
