There are chances of the first NTA JEE Main being conducted anytime between February and March in 2021. You should perhaps start preparing and complete the syllabus by December with a month or two for revision and test series.
As far as aceing the exam and securing a seat in Top NITs are concerned, you should have a minimum target of 99 percentile. Perhaps you should have a proper test taking strategy as well as manage time well in exam. I always believe the JEE journey is 50% Strategy and 50% hardwork.
