Hello,

You have to score atleast 70-80% of the total marks to get an admission in NIT  or IIT . for IIT you have to perform well in jee advance and for NIT you have to perform best in jee mains. with out jee main score satisfying the cutoff merit for jee adv. you can't appear jee advance.

for a cse seat you have to get a rank below 500. then only you will get a seat. this is because the seat count is less and campus is also limited.

Basically if you need a reputed nit or Iiit then you must score above 150 so you can take admission in one of top rated institute .If you want to get admission in nit like Nit Trichy,nit surathkal,nit warangal then you need extra hard work .
