Hy,

Julius Caesar (100–44 BCE) was a pivotal Roman military general, statesman, and dictator. Born into a patrician family, he rose to prominence through his military conquests, notably in Gaul (modern France), which expanded Rome's territory and earned him immense popularity. His crossing of the Rubicon River in 49 BCE ignited a civil war, leading to his dominance over Rome. In 44 BCE, he declared himself dictator perpetuo (dictator for life), centralizing power and implementing significant reforms. His rule and centralization of power alarmed many, resulting in his assassination on the Ides of March, 44 BCE, by a faction of senators.
