Hello,

Well MBBS or BDS is always a hot topic.

MBBS-

  • MBBS more demand.
  • Here you study about entire body.
  • More job opportunities.
  • Long working hours and study period.
  • At present, MBBS is not enough. You need to do MD/MS/DNB and further super specialization.

BDS-

  • Studies Head and neck, basics of few subjects and most subjects around dentistry.
  • Less working hours, less study period.
  • Few requirements in a hospital.
  • BDS is enough. Although you can do MDS.

An MBBS doctor would sometime need a dental check-up/surgery, will go to a dentist.

A dentist at sometime need treatment, will go to MBBS.

Both field have their pros and cons. MBBS is given more respect that doesn't mean BDS is everyone's cup of tea.

Choose what you want to be.

Regarding your question yes. I did the same. I chose MBBS from private leaving Chennai dental government college.
