Dear there is nothing like which is in demand. But,obviously mechanical engineering will be a better choice as it is a core branch and welding technology is just a part of this branch.Mechanical is also an evergreen branch and demand is always there for good engineers in INDIA and abroad. But,you should opt as per your interest.

Thanks.

Hello,
With no question, I can say mechanical engineering is preferred to welding technology. Mechanical engineering is one of the core branches and it is offered in almost all engineering colleges through out India. Having a degree in mechanical engineering from topmost institutes has great value. But what matters is what interests you the most. If welding technology interests you, then pick it. But the placements and demand is obviously more for mechanical engineers compared to the ones with a degree in welding technology.
Good luck!
