Hey,

Medical and genetic engineering both are different streams, although both come under Life science branch. Genetic engineering is being widely used in medicine.

Genetic engineering -:

Genetic engineering involves recombinant DNA technology and gene cloning, is the direct manipulation of an organism’s genes using Biotechnology.

To pursue genetic engineering after your 12th with Physics, Chemistry and Biology subjects, you can go for -:

· Four-year B.Tech degree course in Genetic engineering

· Three-year B.Sc degree course in Genetics/ Life science/ Biotechnology and after that you can go for M.Sc and then P.hd to pursue research in genetic engineering.

Genetic engineering which is also known as Gene technology has become major thrust area of present-day researchers.
