Astronomy is a branch of science which deals with the study of celestial objects such as planets, stars, moon, comets, gas, galaxies and other nonearth objects. In simple words, it is the study of stars, planets and space. Historically, it has focused on the observations of the heavenly bodies. It is the oldest science in our history.
Here I have mentioned below the eligibility criteria for UG and PG in Astronomy
For undergraduate degree
1. Candidates must score a minimum 50% marks after averaging the marks they have in all subjects and above in 12 grades.
2. Candidates must have completed their 12 grades in science stream with Subjects of maths and physics.
3. The admission process for Astronomy is based on the entrance exam or merit-based as per the Institution requirements.
For Postgraduate degree
1. One must score a minimum of 55% marks in average and above in a bachelor’s degree.
2. Must have completed a bachelor’s degree in science (physics, mathematics, astrophysics or astronomy).
3. Admissions based on entrance exams or merit-based as per the Institution’s requirement.
