Hello,

The balanced chemical equation for the reaction between manganese dioxide (MnO2) and hydrochloric acid (HCl):

MnO2 + 4HCl → MnCl2 + 2H2O + Cl2

In this reaction, manganese dioxide (MnO2) reacts with hydrochloric acid (HCl) to produce manganese chloride (MnCl2), water (H2O), and chlorine gas (Cl2).

The manganese dioxide acts as an oxidizing agent, while the hydrochloric acid serves as the reducing agent.

To balance the equation, we need two moles of hydrochloric acid for every mole of manganese dioxide. This yields two moles of manganese chloride, two moles of water, and one mole of chlorine gas.

The balanced equation indicates that for every two moles of manganese dioxide, eight moles of hydrochloric acid react to produce two moles of manganese chloride, four moles of water, and one mole of chlorine gas.

Hope this helps,

Thank you
