Candidates belonging to general category must have passed 10+2 with 75% in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry and for SC/ST it is 65% marks to get admission in IITs/NITs/IIITs. If you belong to general category then you are not eligible to get admission in IITs/NIT/IIITs if you ave scored less than 75% marks in 10+2. Admission NITs and IIITs is based based on merit in JEE Main and admission in IITs is based on merit in JEE Advanced. Candidates who qualify in JEE Main will be eligible to appear in JEE Advanced.
