Well it totally depends on the type of institutes he has filled up in the preference list. If you have filled institutes according to previous year cut-off then maybe. If you ar eunsure I would suggest you to have a look at them and decide for yourself. Since this is only first round and cut-off will fall a lot till the special round so keep up your hopes.
