Both the colleges are upto the mark and you can expect a good placement as well because in today's date they are holding good placement records.

You will be able to apply for all the companies visiting the campus .It would completely depend on you how you perform at the time of placement and how much you can bag.

As IIT guwahati has not released placement records for all the user on its offical website ,so it can't be exactly said.
