Hello,

With AIR 25070 and score 499 in NEET PG 2025 under EWS, it is not possible to get MS General Surgery or Orthopaedics in any government college through AIQ.

These branches usually close at much higher ranks (within 12k–15k for General Surgery and even earlier for Orthopaedics).

Your chances in AIQ government quota for these subjects are very slim. You may try in state quota counselling where cut-offs go higher.

Hope it helps !

Hello, with an AIR of 25070 and a score of 499 in NEET PG 2025 under the EWS category, getting highly demanded branches like General Surgery or Orthopedics in government colleges through the All India Quota (AIQ) will be very tough, as these usually close at much better ranks. However, you still have chances in other clinical and para clinical branches under EWS quota. I suggest checking the NEET PG cutoff trends and using the college predictor link I’m sharing to get a clearer idea of your possible options.

With your NEET PG 2025 AIR of 25,070 and a score of 499 under EWS, getting MS General Surgery or Orthopaedics in a government college is very unlikely. Cutoffs for these specialties in top colleges are far higher.

Alternatives:

  • Consider private colleges for these specialties.

  • Look into DNB programs or diploma courses .

  • Check state quota seats , as criteria may differ.

  • Prepare for the next NEET PG attempt if you want to improve your chances.

Hey! With AIR 25070 and score 499 in NEET PG 2025 (EWS category), chances for General Surgery or Orthopedics in government colleges through AIQ are quite low. These branches usually close at a much better rank.

But don’t lose hope — in state quota counselling or in some deemed/private colleges, you may still have a chance for these clinical branches. Also, keep an eye on mop-up rounds where cutoffs sometimes drop.

If your main target is Surgery/Ortho, I’d suggest you participate in both AIQ and state quota counselling and keep backup options ready.

Hello,

While you have a mark of 499 in NEET and have an EWS with a rank of 25070, it's very unlikely that you will get a government college through the All India Quota. There is very high competition in the EWS quota; typically, you need a mark in the range of 700. Still, you can try the in-state quota for admission.

I hope it will clear your query!!
