hi,

With an OBC category rank of 487, your chances of getting a government seat in Oral Pathology depend on the state you belong to, the number of available seats in that quota, and last year’s cutoffs.

In many states, especially in South India, Oral Pathology seats in government dental colleges tend to go up to ranks around 500–700 in OBC. So, with a 487 rank, you do stand a decent chance, particularly if you belong to a state where more seats are available or where demand is slightly lower for this specialization.

Still, keep an eye on the counseling rounds and choice filling carefully. If you’re open to slightly less popular government colleges, your chances improve further. But if competition is very tight in your state, it might be borderline.
