This issue could be university specific. You have to get in touch with the admissions team of the university but only after you are admitted. Generally, they would not ask for your passport details at the time of application. That could also be a problem at the time of applying for visa. You can either get it corrected on either of the documents or get an affidavit made stating that said parties in both the documents are same. Try the former first.
