Hello Ankit,

To target a good college such as Baby IIMs or IITs for MBA , considering your profile of 8/8/7 CGPA (assuming this refers to your 10th, 12th, and graduation scores) and SC category , you should aim for a percentile of 85-90+ in exams like CAT or XAT .

Here’s why:

  1. Baby IIMs (like IIM Bodh Gaya, IIM Rohtak, etc.) usually require a CAT percentile of 85-90 for SC candidates.

  2. IITs : For a course like MBA in IITs , a percentile of 90+ in CAT/XAT would increase your chances, but 85-90 can still be competitive in some IITs.

  3. Your 0 work experience might affect your chances for top-tier institutes, but many colleges give a weightage to academics and diverse backgrounds .

Focus on:

  • Strong performance in CAT/XAT and GD-PI rounds.

  • Build a compelling profile by highlighting your academic achievements and extracurricular activities.

Category-wise Percentile Cut-offs

As an SC category student, you'll benefit from relaxed cut-offs. Here are some general percentile cut-offs for Baby IIMs and IITs:

1. Baby IIMs: 85-95 percentile

2. IITs: 90-98 percentile

However, these cut-offs can vary depending on the specific college, course, and category.

Target Percentile

Considering your profile, I'd recommend targeting:

1. 90-92 percentile: This should give you a good chance of getting into a Baby IIM or a lower-ranked IIT.

2. 94-96 percentile: If you aim higher, you might have a shot at a higher-ranked IIT or a top Baby IIM.

Preparation Strategy

To achieve your target percentile, focus on:

1. Consistent preparation: Regularly study and practice CAT-level questions.

2. Weaknesses improvement: Identify your weaknesses and work on improving them.

3. Mock tests and analysis: Take regular mock tests and analyze your performance to optimize your strategy.

## College-specific Cut-offs

Here are some college-specific cut-offs for SC category students:

1. IIM Indore: 85-90 percentile

2. IIM Raipur: 80-85 percentile

3. IIT Kanpur: 90-94 percentile

4. IIT Delhi: 92-96 percentile

Keep in mind that these cut-offs are estimates and may vary from year to year.
