My son has got the following marks so is he eligible for engineering. Maths - 049, Physics -053, Chemistry - 049.

Hello Sir

For getting admission into Engineering you just have , PCM in 12th grade . Nothing else 

As you had mentioned above are those marks in boards or JEE Mains scorecard . 

If that in boards, your ward should have  above 60 percent above in boards to get admissions in most Engeneering colleges in India but there are some private colleges in State Counsellings which gives admission on basis of board percentage so you will definitely get one in every state in India.

If that his score in JEE Mqins then it's good score he stand chance to get good government colleges in many states and ,Admission through JOSSA depending on your category. But you should definitely try if that in JEE Mains.

Yes, The candidate needs to have passed 10+2 with a minimum aggregate of 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
