You actually have to try for Private Engineering Colleges of West Bengal since Government Engineering Colleges close seat allocation at much lower ranks....

If you try for government colleges you cannot get good government colleges...

Here are some colleges that you can get...

• govt college of engg. textile tech.
• govt college of engg. and ceramic tech.
• govt college of engg. and leather tech.
• abacus institute of engineering and management.

As far as private engineering colleges are considered, Heritage is better than the other private engineering colleges in West Bengal. In that case I would suggest you to opt for Heritage Institute of Technology and I am quite sure you will get admitted. If the general admission seats are filled, you still have the management quota where you need to invest some hard earned cash for an admission into engineering...
