Hello aspirant!

Well, No.

Usually all the courses now have their respectuve entrance exams. For example, if you are aspiring to do MBBS, BAMS etc. then you need to give NEET exam. If you are aspiring for institutions like IIT, NIT, IIIT you have to give JEE Mains exam. For rest of the engineering colleges, respective states have their own entrance exam. Normally your merit will be considered based on both your Inter 2nd year marks as well as entrance exam marks, depending on the weightages in respective states. Seats are allocated on the basis of merit, category and other factors.

Now, As far as I know, there is no complete free seat atleast in majority of colleges. For reserved categories there will be concession in college fee depending upon the family income of the student. The minimal counselling fee should be paid by all. Also, there are many scholorships available if you score good marks and come under eligible class for scholarship. Do check them out and apply.
