Class 11 Biology:

• Structural Organization in Plants & Animals

  • Plant morphology (root, stem, leaf, inflorescence, flower, fruit, seed) & animal tissues and organ systems (digestive, circulatory, respiratory, nervous, reproductive) .

• Cell Structure and Function

  Recommended

  • Cell theory, prokaryotic vs. eukaryotic cells, organelles, cell division (mitosis & meiosis) .

• Plant Physiology

  • Photosynthesis, respiration, plant growth and development processes .

• Human Physiology

  • Body fluids, circulation, respiration, excretion, locomotion, neural & chemical coordination

Class 12 Biology:

• Reproduction

  • Human & plant reproductive systems, reproductive health, developmental biology .

• Genetics and Evolution

  • Principles of inheritance, molecular basis (DNA, RNA, replication, transcription, translation), evolution theories, gene expression .

• Biology and Human Welfare

  • Diseases & immunity (common human pathogens), microbes in food, industry, environment; basic immunology .

• Biotechnology and Its Applications

• Ecology and Environment

Certain topics have been removed from NCERT and thus excluded from the NEET 2026 syllabus:

• Class 11: Mineral Nutrition, Transport in Plants, Digestion & Absorption, Taxonomic Aids, Vernalization & Seed Dormancy, Sense Organs

• Class 12: Reproduction in Organisms, Improvement in Food Production, Environmental Issues, Succession.
