Dear student M.Sc. Applied Geology is a 2 year full-time post-graduation program for the study of geological science.Clearing graduation degree in any relevant stream with a minimum aggregate of 60% marks and above deems the qualifying criteria for the program.

The program fees range from INR 28,000 to 1 Lac and above, which is subject to vary for different institutions and colleges.



Along with qualifying graduation degree, candidates are also required to clear the entrance examination as prescribed by universities and institutions. Computing the marks secured in the entrance examination and degree level together, the merit percentage of the program will be calculated. The admissions are done solely on merit list basis to gain entry to the course. The program explores the study of Earth and the processes involved in the changes taking place on the planet.

Candidates are required to have an inclination to acquire knowledge about the subject and geography of our planet. Possessing the skills to use a computer as well as non-computer based techniques, plotting of maps and study of the rocks, its morphology and much more is considered beneficial for the student while pursuing this program. In addition, aspirants should also have the quality to undertake field and laboratory studies. This course is beneficial for students who wish to pursue further research in the field.

Graduates after the completion of the course have the lucrative job scopes in sectors of Engineering, Geotechnical, Groundwater and Environmental companies. After the completion of the course, candidates earn decent packages with an average remuneration ranging between INR 2 to 13 Lac per annum. This can gradually increase with the number of years of experience and further qualifications.
