Hello there,

The admission process for B.A. Psychology (Hons.) in Loreto College, Kolkata typically follows these steps:

  1. Application : The college usually releases its admission notification in May or June after the 12th results are announced. You need to apply online or through the prescribed offline procedure, depending on the guidelines given by the college.

  2. Eligibility Criteria :

    • Minimum Percentage : The eligibility for admission to B.A. Psychology (Hons.) generally requires a minimum of 50% to 60% marks in your 12th standard, depending on the competition and subject-specific requirements.

    • Subject Requirement : A background in Arts/Science with Psychology, Biology, or English as one of the subjects can be beneficial, although some colleges may not have strict subject prerequisites.

  3. Admission Based on Merit : Admission to Loreto College is usually based on the merit list . After submitting your application, the college prepares a merit list based on your 12th marks (some weightage might be given to marks in specific subjects like Psychology or Biology).

  4. Counseling/Interviews : In some cases, an interview or counseling session may be conducted after the merit list is announced, especially if the demand for seats is high.

    Key Dates:

  • Application : Usually starts in May/June .
  • Admission Cut-off Announcement : The cut-off is announced soon after the application process ends, typically by June or July .

  • Commencement of Classes : Classes generally begin in July or August .

It’s recommended to check the college’s official website for updates on specific admission dates and requirements for the current year.

Admission to Loreto College for BA Psychology starts right after West Bengal Board Results or CBSE and ISC results are out, whichever is later and is usually open for at least 3 weeks.

See, Loreto College is a very sought after college for BA Psychology so cut-off for WBCHSE goes till 94-95 and for ISC and CBSE it goes till 97-98, not lower usually.

The application process is online and you will have to submit your 10th Admit card, 10th Marksheet and 12th Marksheet. Here make sure you don't enter incorrect information because they cancel admission if there's any discrepancy at verification.

All the best!
