Majority of core branches students are opting jobs in computer science looking in to placement opportunities and pay package since last few years. As far as placement is concern IIIT banglore is almost at par with top IITs. Also location matters as Banglore is hub of IT industry. IIIT curriculum is better also. I will recommend IIIT banglore than Mechanical in IIT even in top Iits. Choice is difficult as you wont get IIT tag, however, tag only will not help to get better placement opportunity, branch matters. I know students in my circle who passed CS from tier 2/3 colleges and getting much better placement then core graduate from IIT and Bits. If you choose core branches other than CS then should prepare for Mtech.

Hello ,
According to 2020 ranking of engineering college,
  1. IIT KHARAGPUR - 5
  2. IIIT BENGALURU- 62
The rankings are given to the colleges based on many important factors of concern. But since you are getting CSE in IIIT Bengaluru and Mechanical Engineering in IIT Kharagpur, i will suggest you to go with the branch you are interested in. Because both the institutes are topmost. Go through the subjects of both the subjects, and then decide what matters more "IIT" TAG or branch of your choice.

Dear Aspirant,if you are interested in computer science engineering and mechanical engineering both than I would recommend you to go for IIT Bangalore Computer Science Engineering. Computer Science Engineering is in demand and its worth is going to increase rapidly every year. The world is moving into a new era which requires CSE for advancement towards AI and ML. That does not reduce the worth of mechanical engineering. None is second to other. But according to me if you are getting an opportunity to study CSE at IIT then my suggestion would be go for it.
