No, you must retake the JEE mains if you wish to sit for the JEE advanced. If you are a dropper, you have the choice of reappearing for either your boards or your jee, or both. However, for jee advanced, jee mains is required. The IITs made this choice to ensure that first-time qualifiers are not disadvantaged. Another issue is that there's a probability you'll forget the notions within a year.
