Hello,

Ryotwari System was a system of land revenue which was introduced in the late eighteenth century by Sir Thomas Munro, in this system ryot which means peasant cultivators were considered as owners of the land, and taxes were directly collected from them by the government which were high and had the provision for further raise, the failure to pay the taxes lead to driving them out by the authority, since there was no middleman, the taxes to be paid in only cash, the issues of moneylenders were evident, this further burden the peasants with high rate interests.
