Hi

To be eligible for NITs, IITs in 2021,one needs at least  75% marks in aggregate in class 12 if belong to general or obc category or at least  65% marks if belongs to SC/ST or  must be in the top 20 percentile in  class 12 examination.

So, if you belong to general/obc category then with 74% you are not eligible for IITs and NITs. But if you belong to Sc or St category then yes you are eligible.

But don't worry you can go for improvement examination so that you can score better and fulfill the criteria of 75 %, many students every year to go for improvement examination and score good in their improvement examination and Crack JEE examination as well

Taking a drop is a personal choice, if you are ready to work hard and study well and have a belief on yourself that you can do it then only you should drop otherwise you may end up wasting an year.

But yes,
taking a drop has become common these days ,every year a number of students take a drop and not only prepare for JEE but qualify it with a good rank and get into good Engineering College as well you can do the same if you remain dedicated and honest towards your preparation in your drop year.

So, if you are passionate about doing hard work and you are ready to study  and devote all your time and energy for your preparation then you should definitely take a chance and take a drop.

So, take your time and decide.

If you decide  to take a drop then you can prepare well using our Jee mains knock out the link for the same is given below
