Reshma,

As you know that even after deleted chapters the examination demands you to have complete knowledge and you cannot take the risk of leaving portions as things are even interconnected and interdisciplinary.

I would rather suggest you to go through the previous years papers and take as many mocks you can solve. Look out for your weaknesses and work upon them so that even if you have skipped the portions deleted you manage to score well.

Best of luck

I will tell you based on my experience. Pattern is varying every year. However the baseline remains the same. In 2015 AIPMT (cancelled one) had difficulty level above expected due to which the cut offs were expected to be low. In that paper, questions asked were 60% from NCERT and 40% were the ones which were not from NCERT. However in the rescheduled NEET most of the questions were from NCERT. In 2016, in NEET 1, paper was of same level as of rescheduled  2015. However in NEET 2, the chemistry section especially inorganic and organic portion was quite difficult and out of NCERT.

Bottomline is that your base should always be NCERT. Your concepts must be crystal clear from NCERT. However you cannot expect all 180 questions to be asked straight from NCERT as that will lead to absurd difficulty level. What happens most of the time is that we study from NCERT and miss (skip) a lot of important points. Let me tell you subjectwise.

PHYSICS

Concepts are the core of this subject. How much problems you have solved, if your concepts in this subject are not clear, you will be having a hard time in exam. For concepts you can study NCERT but it gets boring with time (all blue you know.) I personally read theory from Resnik-Halliday. It gives a realistic view and helps in understanding physics. For numericals, there is a wide range of books available, however do solve the examples and exercise questions of NCERT as many times questions are straightaway asked from them. Apart from that there are coaching modules, DC Pandey, HC Verma etc.

CHEMISTRY

90% portion covered is of NCERT. NCERT should be the primary focus in this subject. However do practice questions from coaching modules/Dinesh (objective) /O P Tandon.

BIOLOGY

Again, out of 90 questions, nearly 70 are from NCERT. However it is not necessary that you will get the answers of those 70 correctly. By and large on average, if you have studied properly, you will get 60 questions correctly. Let me make it clear that I am not demotivating you, but just making an averge assumption on my experience. Now here comes the point of those 30 questions which account for 120 crucial marks. Here is where competition arises. For these 30 questions, study very carefully and precisely. Go through your coaching notes, take the guidance of teachers, know what the crucial topics are. You are not doing PhD so there is no need to study every topic in detail. Human and plant physiology and ecology are very important topics. Never miss them at any cost. And do remember mnemonics of important things. They help a lot in exams.

All the Best.
