A Horticulturist is some one who have enriched technical & scientific knowledge to cultivate and propagate plants. Now as this is invariably linked with production of food and daily life necessity materials , there is a lot of job opportunity in this field.

A Horticulturist involves in the management and cultivation of land and gardens which has a lots of similarity in the job profile of Landscape Architects. Although there lies some difference.

Now Horticulturist can work in genres like:

  1. A Horticulturist may involve in active scientific research like studying plant genetics , plant evolution etc . This have a great future aspect.
  2. A Horticulturist may join with industries for designing landscapes of a specific site. They cultivate flowers, grasses, shrubs, trees, and advise their client on proper plant products and irrigation to maintain the look and integrity of the greenery.
  3. A Horticulturist may work as advisors for farmers and others. They can provide more scientific facilities and innovation for getting more outputs in farming.
  4. Horticulturist may works as administrators in different companies. They are sole purpose of work is to check about the policies are implicated in the site or not. They can also be planner to fit a project regarding to horticulture under a fixed budget constraint.
  5. Last but not the end , they can work as amazing teachers/professors and can teach students who are interested in the field.

So this are some of the job aspects an Horticulturist may have. You have to develop industrial skills as well as subject knowledge to utilize all the exposure that will be provided by the field to you.
