Admission into any college is based on many prerequisites such as rank, category, gender, nativity, etc. So, when there are so many factors included in deciding a seat, sometimes we cannot get guess what might happen. If you belong to SC/ST or any other BC category your son is more likely to get a seat in any of the NITs or IITs. Just apply for as many best colleges as you can.

Hello sir,yes sir he can apply for niits And IIITS Because these are based on the board exam percentile and jee mains rank.so your son got good percentile in board exams he can apply for it but if your category belongs to general he will get seat in mining, metullurgy,etc..like that branches he may have also chances to get In mech. So please apply for the colleges.
Try to apply for all colleges and all branches then he will get seat in any colleges.if not please apply for spot round there he will get seat.
