Hello there!

Greetings!

If you want to get into nit /iit then you need to obtain a minimum of 75% marks in your improvement exam or you must be in the top 20 percentile . For SC/ ST, the eligibility is to obtain a minimum of 65% marks in class 12.

So if you score 75 % marks then you are good to go , you don't need to worry about 20 percentile but even if you failed to get 75 % marks but you are in top 20 percentile then you will be eligible as for many state boards top 20 percentile is less than 75% around 60 percent marks .

A student does not score 75% in board exam 2018 but he is in top 20 percentile criteria as declared by JOSAA for 2018 year. If he re-appears for Jee in 2019 and top 20 percentile marks increased by JOSAA in 2019, can the student be eligible for JEE 2019 on the basis of percentile marks of 2018?
