There has no advantage between the rank of entrance exams. In that perticular entrance, where you manage to score good rank, you should apply the colleges by the rank.. (notice : which colleges are taking the rank of the entrance)

The better ranking will decide this.If in state exam you are getting better college according to state rank then go for state rank else go for jee main score.
