Hi,

Many students are mistaken that the Tata Institute of fundamental research offers courses in astronomical engineering. However it doesnot. The Department of Astronomy and Astrophysics is a part of the School of Natural Science and carries out research in theoretical and observational astrophysics, with an active interest in instrumentation. It also trains graduates and post graduates. There is no university or institute that offers astronomical engineering. IISc bangalore does have the JAP which is in colloboration with Indian Institute of Astrophysics, IIST, Rama Research institute. check details here http://www.physics.iisc.ernet.in/~jap/stuopp.htm. There is an integrated programme but that also is for graduates in engineering and other specified courses.
