Hello,

The Tyndall Effect is the effect of light scattering in colloidal dispersion, that is in a medium containing small suspended particles—e.g., smoke or dust in a room.

The Tyndall effect is not observed in true solutions, since in true solutions the size of the particles are very small and not in the colloidal range but it is lesser than the colloidal range. Therefore, in true solutions the particle are not large enough to scatter the light incident on it and hence doesn't show the Tyndall effect.

Good luck

Hello,

Tyndall effect, also called Tyndall phenomenon, scattering of a beam of light by a medium containing small suspended particles—e.g., smoke or dust in a room, which makes visible a light beam entering a window.

Tyndall effect is due to the scattering of light by colloidal particles. Sugar solution is a true homogeneous solution which will not show Tyndall effect.

When a beam of light is directed at a glass of milk, the light is scattered. This is an example of the Tyndall effect.

Hope this helps!!!
