Hello Aspirant,

Homonyms in the English language ,are words that have different meanings but have same pronunciation and spelling, basically same word but two meanings.Meaning changes according to the context. For example , Address can mean both details of a location (address of your house) and speak about something( address the issue). Some other examples are : bat, suit, bark, scale, bear etc

Homophones ,on the other hand are words that sound alike or similar. 'Hom' means same and 'phone' comes from phonetic which means sound. These words may have similar sound when pronounced, but they will have different meanings ,origins or even spellings. For example, new and knew. Other examples are capitol and capital, flower and flour, sun and son etc.

Hope it helps

All the best
