The functions of CAG are-

  1. He audits all the transactions belonging to the Central and state governments.  These are related to debt, deposits, suspense accounts and business.

  2. Accounts of any other authority are audited by him when it is requested. The request is made by the President or Governor. Local bodies are an example.
