Dear student,

When you place food in a freezer, then the heat from the food is absorbed so that the temperature of the food decreases. The temperature of the food has a direct proportionality with the activities of bacteria in food. When temperature of the food decreases, the bad bacterias are killed and are not able to grow and multiply, which results in preservation of food for a longer time.
