Hello Aspirant
Placements are done on the basis of:
- Skills
- Performance in College
- Communication Skills
- Behavior
B.Tech degree is of 4 years. if you're JEE Dropper or JEE Topper, it doesn't matter to the company. They only want a skilled employee for their company. They are not interested in your marks in JEE. If you are a topper, then you can add this in your resume, but maximum companies takes test for placements before interview. If you pass the test, then your resume is seen.
So, do your engineering and gain as much skills you can.
Hope this helps and all the best for future.
No, there will not be any problem during campus placements. If you want to choose a private Institute you should check whether the college has good placement opportunities. For recruitment opportunities your personality, graduation CGPA and practical and software knowledge will make your resume impressive.
I hope this is helpful to you.
All the best!

Hi Dear,
Placements is a factor which differs for every college. And you being a JEE dropper won't effect your placements from private college. There are many good private colleges which offer great placements to its students. However, you cannot expect packages as high as students get in top government engineering colleges. Also, placement is more about the students capability and knowledge rather than the college.
