Hello Aspirant,

Hope you are doing great.  The introduction of harmful materials into the ecosystem is known as pollution. Pollutants are the term for these harmful compounds. Pollutants harm air, water, and land quality.

  • A primary pollutant is one that is directly emitted by a source. A secondary pollutant is created when other pollutants (primary pollutants) react in the atmosphere, rather than being directly emitted.
  • Pollutants that originate in the atmosphere are known as secondary pollutants. These pollutants do not come from a single source (like vehicles or power plants). Rather, they emerge when pollutants produced from these sources combine with molecules in the atmosphere to create a new pollutant.

Air pollution causes and effects and an increased risk of heart attack, wheezing, coughing, and breathing problems, as well as irritation of the eyes, nose, and throat, can be caused by high levels of air pollution. Air pollution can exacerbate existing heart conditions, asthma, and other lung disorders.
