What is b.tech lateral entry? Please tell in brief.

Lateral entry in B.Tech is of 3 years instead of 4 years. It is like getting admitted directly in the second year ie, third semster. One has to have a diploma of a branch so that you can take admission through lateral entry for the same branch. Also you have to give the examination for lateral entry.

Eligibility-
He/she must have completed a diploma in their respective branch to be eligible for the
lateral entry
program. After completing their diploma, they write a special examination for enrollment in the institute.

B.Tech lateral entry is a process through a which a diploma student gets admission into a college for degree corse in the 2nd year of B.Tech. If a candidate has done diploma after 10th class, then after 3 years his diploma will be completed and then he will give the lateral entry exam for his choice of college and will get inducted in the 2nd year of regular B.Tech course.
