The chemical formula of calcium carbonate is CaCO3. Calcium Carbonate is the carbonic salt of calcium (CaCO3) .

The molecule is formed by the calcium cation Ca+2 and the carbonate anion CO3-2.

It appears as white, odorless powder or colorless crystals, practically insoluble in water and occurs extensive in rocks world-wide.
