The eligibility criteria for CAT exam is that the candidate must have passed their bachelor's degree with a minimum of 50% marks (for General category and NC-OBC caste). For SC/ST and differently abled candidate the minimum required percentage are 45%.

The bachelor's degree of candidate must be from an university that is recognised by MHRD.

If the marks are awarded in CGPA then the conversion methods of that particular college will be used and if the there is no conversion factor or method then CGPA will be converted into percentage by direct conversion.

CAT exam or the Common Admission Test is a computer-based MBA entrance test for admissions into the IIMs and several other prestigious B-Schools in the country. Every year it is conducted by IIMs on rotational basis. Last year IIM Kozhikode conducted the examination.

It is a highly competitive examination. To be able to get eligible for CAT, candidates need to fulfil the following criterion:

• The candidate must hold bachelor's degree and have secured at least 50% or equivalent CGPA. There ia a relaxation of 5% for reserved categories.
• Applicants who are appearing for the final year of their bachelor’s degree and the candidates who have completed their graduation degree requirements and are awaiting results are also eligible to apply.
• There is no age limit to apply for this exam.
