Hey aspirant,

High-entropy alloys (HEAs) are alloys that are formed by mixing equal or relatively large proportions of (usually) five or more elements.

These alloys are called so as the entropy increase of mixing is substantially higher when there is a larger number of elements in the mix, and their proportions are more nearly equal.

Hope this helps.

Hello,

HEA or High Entropy alloy are the alloys having at least five elements included in one system; the concentration of each element was greater than 5 at.%, but less than 35 at.%. Since the concept of high-entropy alloy (HEA) is proposed by Yeh et al., it has been emerging as one of the hot research frontiers in the metallic materials field with a huge prospect of engineering application. According to literature, high entropy alloys have several excellent mechanical and chemical properties such as increased hardness, high mechanical strength, and good wear and corrosion resistance.

Good Luck
