Hello,

The three limitations of Coulomb's Law are:

1. This law is only applicable in the cases where inverse law works.

2. It is basically applicable for point charges that are at rest.

3. The law cannot be applied if the charges are in arbitrary shape.

Hope your doubts are cleared. Thank you.

Hi aspirant,

Following below are the limitations of coulomb's law:

  • Coulomb's law is only valid for static charges.
  • The Coulomb's law is valid for regular and smooth shaped objects or charges and not always holds true for irregular charges.

Hope it helps!!

Everything in the world has its own pros and cons. Similarly coulomb law has its own limitations or limited use. In coulomb's law it is very difficult to deal with charges having a regular shape and the formula is only legal when the solvent molecules between the particle are sufficiently larger than both the charges. Other than this you can use this formula only if the charges are static or in rest position.
