Itinerant means travelling from place to place or wandering.

Itinerant retailers do not have a fix place of business. Their business is characterized by moving their shops around. 

Following are the types of Itinerant retailers :-

• Peddlers and Hawkers :- They carry their goods on carts, bicycles or baskets. They constantly move around to make profit by selling goods to customers. 
• Cheap Jacks :- They have an independent shop but it is not a permanent one. They change the location of these temporary shops if they find better opportunities.
• Market Traders :- They open their shops only on market days. Market days are different for different places. So if market is open only on Saturday then they only trade on Saturday. 
• Street Traders :- Aiming at floating population they choose the places like bus stops, railway station, government offices, commercial offices or educational institutes to do business.
