How are CAT scaled scores calculated? What is raw score and scaled score?

IIMs calculate the mean and standard deviation of the candidate's Raw scores and then they apply a formula to calculate the scaled score. A student's scaled score is based on their raw score. A raw score is the total number of marks a student receives on a test based on the number of questions answered correctly.
