Hii There,

Photosynthesis is the mechanism through which phototrophic organisms transform light energy into chemical energy, subsequently employed to power cellular functions. This chemical energy is stored in the shape of sugars, generated from water and carbon dioxide. Therefore, photosynthesis essentially means "combining together with the aid of light."

Photosynthesis is not limited to green plants; it also applies to various other organisms, including certain prokaryotes like cyanobacteria, purple bacteria, and green sulfur bacteria. These organisms undergo photosynthesis in a similar manner to green plants. The end product of this biochemical process is glucose, which serves as an energy source for various cellular functions. Additionally, one of the by-products of photosynthesis is oxygen.
